Post subject:  Point cloud on sat images

Hi everyone,

I try to produce a point cloud on Pleiades images. The workflow for DEM went well.
My purpose is to have a point cloud that could be further processed with other tools to remove vegetation, but ...

when trying to make a point cloud with AperiCloud (to generate then a 3D mask) or even with C3DC, I get an error with cMetaDataPhoto::Foc

anyone knows if this is possible with Pleiades images?

Stereo DSM and point cloud can be easily extracted from Pleiades. However, some tools like AperiCloud and C3DC do not support satellite formats.
You can check the MicMac pdf book for more details on dedicated satellite processing workflow.

A simple workflow for stereo processing using Pleiades that I regularly use (no GCPs, only RPC model):

  • Convert2GenBundle -> Ingest images into micmac format
  • [Optional: SateLib CropRPC -> Crop into a smaller subset]
  • Tapioca -> Find matches
  • Campari -> Orientation
  • Malt Ortho -> DSM/Ortho raster
  • Nuage2Ply -> point cloud

Hi, thanks I didn't know that Apericloud and C3DC do no support sat images.

Nuage2Ply works well
